SAN FRANCISCO – The City College of San Francisco women's basketball team is putting together another solid start to the season. After returning home from a three-day tournament in Southern California, the Rams are set to return to their home court starting on Thursday (Dec. 18) to host the Golden Gate Classic.

Heading to Brad Duggan Court at the CCSF Wellness Center to compete alongside the Rams are Los Angeles Valley College (3-8), Santa Rosa Junior College (7-2), East Los Angeles College (8-5), Los Angeles Southwest College (6-8), and Sierra College (7-2).

It should be a competitive weekend of basketball as five of the six squads advanced to their respective regional playoffs last season.

The tourney runs Thursday-Saturday with three games each day:

The Rams are 8-3 overall but are coming off a tough 1-2 showing at the Los Angeles Valley College Buddy's All-Star Classic tournament last weekend. CCSF suffered a pair of losses to quality Southern California opponents in Cypress College (69-61) and Long Beach City College (78-71).

But on Friday, the Rams cruised to an impressive 81-35 rout of Ventura College with Jesse Chau leading the way scoring a season-high 21 points.

Prior to the tourney, CCSF had won seven of its first eight games and was riding a five-game winning streak.
