Rams win season opener 4-2 at home over Contra Costa

SAN FRANCISCO – Sophomore Cristopher Jackson scored a pair of goals and added an assist to help lead the City College of San Francisco men's soccer team to a 4-2 victory over visiting Contra Costa College in the squad's 2025 season opener.

CCSF jumped out to a 2-0 lead after first-half goals from Antonin Lesperance (24th minute) and Abel Reid (43rd).

The Comets got a goal just moments before the halftime whistle to cut the Rams' lead in half, heading into the break.

But Jackson took over in the second half, knocking in goals in the 58th and 78th minutes to secure the Rams' win. Michael Soto was credited with a pair of assists while Lesperance had one.

Jesper Skoglund posted 5 saves in goal for the Rams in earning the win.

CCSF, now 1-0, is back in action next Friday (Sep. 5) when the Rams host Napa Valley College in a 4 p.m. non-conference game.
