Jesse Palafox enters his first season as assistant coach at City College of San Francisco. Palafox returns to the Rams as pitching coach after playing at CCSF during the 2016-2017 seasons. He previously spent two seasons as a graduate assistant coach at the University of Dubuque. Prior to UD, Palafox coached two seasons at Division II, Bemidji State University, working primarily with pitchers.

In 2023, Palafox’s second season coaching at the University of Dubuque, the Spartans finished with an ERA of 3.25, third best in the nation at the DIII level. During his time as assistant coach at UD, the Spartans had a record of 50-32. Under Palafox’s guidance, pitchers Derek Hardin and Ed Rosas earned All-Region 9 Team honors by D3 Baseball.   

Palafox started his collegiate ball at City College of San Francisco in 2015, where he earned All-Coast Golden Gate Conference honors as a relief pitcher during his sophomore year. Then Palafox transferred to NCAA Division II, Bemidji State who is a member of the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC). Palafox played from 2018-2019 for Bemidji State graduating with a degree in Sport Management, before joining the coaching staff in 2020. After College, Palafox played 4 seasons professionally with the Tucson Saguaros of the Pecos League, and had stints with the Northern Colorado Owlz, New Jersey Jackals and Rocky Mountain Vibes of the Pioneer and the Frontier Leagues.
