The City College of San Francisco Athletic Department will honor Breast Cancer Awareness Month with a week of "Pink Out" games at home, beginning on October 18.
"Breast Cancer Awareness Month is a time to create awareness, honor the millions of lives affected by breast cancer and reaffirm our global commitment to equitable access to care and improved survival for all," said CCSF Interim Athletic Director Peg Grady.
During five home contests this week, the Rams will host Pink Out events starting on Saturday when the CCSF Football team takes on Laney College. Kickoff is set for 1 p.m. at George M. Rush Stadium.
On Sunday (Oct. 19) the CCSF Women's Tennis team will host an alumni scrimmage in honor and memory of former Ram Sherry Lee. Lee, a two-year member of the women's tennis team, passed away two years ago after her courageous battle with breast cancer.
Pink Out activities continue on Tuesday (Oct. 21) with a soccer doubleheader against Cañada College on campus. The CCSF women's soccer team kicks off at 1:30 p.m. followed by the men's game at 4 p.m.
The week wraps up on Wednesday (Oct. 22) with a Rams women's volleyball match against College of San Mateo. That contest is scheduled for a 6:30 p.m. start in the Wellness Center Gym.
